Marayoor also called 'the heaven on earth lies on the eastern slope of Westen ghats which is a rain shadow region. Famous for the sandalwood forests, this place was once home to Veerappan. The rain devoid slopes are ideal for the growth of sandalwood plants.

A destination lying close to Munnar, marayoor has lots to offer for its guests. The rare flowers of Neelakurinji that bloom once in 12 years(now due in 2018) belong to this place. The beauty of the place is striking and unforgettable.
